Takeya Miso, known from the motto “Takeya Miso has a taste all its own”, was established in 1872. At present, we have factories in Suwa City and Matsumoto City, and we sell our “miso you can eat every day and never grow tired of it” all across the country.
In one corner of our Suwa factory located on the shores of Lake Suwa is the Takeya Miso Kaikan (hall) that offers information on miso and sells miso directly from our brewery. It has a number of products, such as limited availability miso that can’t be purchased anywhere else or goods featuring our company’s original character, Owan-kun. Furthermore, the adjacent “30 BAR” sells an original blend tonjiru (pork miso soup) stewed in a giant pot (quantities are limited) and the very popular sesame seed miso soft-serve ice cream. Please be sure to stop by if you’re down to the shores of Lake Suwa.
